Presence exception
In Rotary, we recognize two types of presence exceptions. The leave of absence for significant reasons or the exemption that follows the 85 rule.
Leave of absence
According to the 2019 procedural manual, an absence is considered excused if the board approves it due to valid and sufficient reasons, conditions, and circumstances. Such absences should not exceed twelve months. However, if the absence is due to health issues or following the birth, adoption, or foster care of a child, the board may extend it beyond the initial twelve months.
Exemption
If a member's age combined with their years of membership in one or more clubs totals at least 85 years, the member has been a Rotarian for a minimum of 20 years, and has formally notified the club secretary in writing of their desire to be exempted from attending meetings, with the club board's approval, an exemption can be granted.
An exemption for an active member can be added under Members > Exempt from presence by clicking on the icon in the row of the desired member.
Then click on the "+ Create" button to create a new exemption.

Create exemption
Choose either "Temporary" or "Permanent" as the type. In the "Reason" field, specify the reason for the exemption and define the desired time frames.
ATTENTION
Please note that a new exemption will only be considered for open (not closed) events during the relevant period. Changes to or deletion of an existing exemption will have no effect. The adjustments must be made manually by the administrator, for the member, in the lists of participants of the events concerned. This problem is known and already noted.
