Frequently Asked Questions about Member Management
Is there a suggestion for assigning rights or roles?
In essence, the guiding principle for contract awarding should be: “As little as possible and as much as needed”. There are only four administrators authorized to modify member information.

What is the significance of a red "x" for a member who is currently active in the "Login" column?
A red "x" basically means that this member does not have an activated user account.
To activate the member, click on the key icon next to the relevant member, then check the box labeled “Has user account,” assign the appropriate role if necessary, and click on “Save”.
Which communication option do I have to select for active members?
All active members must select the “Email or postal mail” option. The postal address is required by Rotary International and for receiving the printed Rotary magazine or other printed materials.
How do I register for honorary membership?
According to Art 4.010, 4.040 and 4.050 Manual of Procedure 2022, a club may only award Honorary membership to a Guest Rotarian of another club, or to a non-Rotarian. In other words, an active member cannot be an honorary member of his or her own club!
Polaris still offers various options for registering for Honorary Membership.
Can I delete a member?
Only prospects or other contacts can be deleted by club administrators. No active member can be deleted by club administrators. If this is necessary, please inform your DICO.
